As Lara approaches the end of the first zip line, briefly press B/ C/ Circle to let go of the line and grab the one below. Then, as long as you don't die or reload, you're free to explore without being attacked. But I recommend that you make an initial sweep to take out all of the enemies in this area, as described below.
